Whether you’re a massage therapy seeker or a wellness enthusiast, understanding these benefits might just make regular massages an essential part of your self-care routine.
Our massage therapists have been working with Alaya Ascend guests for years. They’re not spa therapists providing relaxation treatments – they’re skilled practitioners who understand how bodywork integrates with heat therapy, floatation and the nervous system reset that happens here.
After thousands of sessions, we've learned something: massage works differently when combined with our other wellness technologies. Float first, and your body receives touch therapy in a completely different state. Sauna before massage, and tension releases from layers most people don't know they're carrying.
More Than Massage - Integrated Bodywork
Therapeutic Modalities Available
Remedial Massage: Deep tissue work targeting specific problem areas, chronic pain patterns, and postural issues developed from stress and poor movement habits.
Huna Massage: Hawaiian tradition combining physical bodywork with energy awareness, particularly effective for people processing emotional stress alongside physical tension.
Thai Massage: Stretching and pressure point work that increases flexibility while promoting energy flow throughout the body.
Relaxation Massage: Traditional Swedish techniques adapted for people whose nervous systems need gentle encouragement to let go rather than deep pressure.
All techniques are adapted based on whether you’ve been floating, using sauna, or planning to use other facilities afterward.
In-Room Bliss Option
Stress Reduction through Lower Cortisol Levels
Take your therapeutic session inside your bungalow and let our practitioners work in the privacy of your own space. Many couples find this creates deeper intimacy – being cared for in your retreat sanctuary rather than a clinical treatment room.
In-Room Couples ,]Massages:
- 2 x 60 minutes: $230
- 2 x 45 minutes: $180
Perfect for those who want to transition straight from massage to spa time by the fireplace without leaving their private space.
Stress doesn’t just live in your mind – it literally reshapes your body. Chronically tight shoulders, shallow breathing patterns, defensive postures that become permanent. Talk therapy can’t address these physical patterns, and relaxation techniques often can’t penetrate years of accumulated tension.
Skilled bodywork, especially when your nervous system is already in a regulated state from floating or sauna, can release trauma patterns that have been locked in muscle memory. Not mystical healing – just the reality that bodies hold stress and skilled touch can help release it.
Combined with the other practices here, massage becomes part of a complete system for shifting from chronic stress states into something resembling your natural baseline.
Massage therapy is available by arrangement for all retreat guests. We recommend booking when you reserve your accommodation to ensure availability with our established practitioners.
Day retreat visitors: Massage can be added to half-day packages (Sundays/Thursdays) as an enhancement to your complete facility experience.
The key is timing your session to integrate with the other wellness technologies rather than treating it as a standalone service.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
